		Edition No. 1, October 2001

	Welcome, to this first [small] edition of ‘*The Independent Yorkshire Terrier’* (TIYT), the aims and objectives of which are to provide ‘pet-people’, breeders and exhibitors alike, with an interesting, informative, fun, non-political newsletter. To keep costs down to the barest minimum I have included it as part of my Yetholme Yorkies website. It’s available for all to read via the this site, but if you know of someone who doesn’t have internet access please let me know or ask that person to contact me. I’ll happily ‘snail mail’ a hardcopy anywhere in the world. Following my cessation as producer of the Yorkshire Terrier Club newsletter, I received heaps and heaps of support from members who also asked me to consider 'going it alone' with an independent newsletter. So here goes. I hope that those people who asked me to do that will now further support this initiative by sending in items of interest. To all those who took the time and trouble to contact me, I thank you sincerely. Firstly, you might like to write and tell me what you would most like to see in this new newsletter. How often would you like to receive it? Three monthly? Four monthly? Half-yearly? What kind of articles interest you most? Any other suggestions? I must warn you that I am totally merciless in asking my puppy people to send me pics and stories about their new puppies and, while I do not intend this to be a ‘Yetholme Yorkies’ newsletter, I am not ashamed to use such items. On the other hand, everyone else has the same opportunity, so breeders AND PET OWNERS - get your stories and pictures in. To begin with, I am asking everyone of you who receives this, to send me a story about yourself and your Yorkies. Introduce yourselves. It is so easy if you have email. My email addy is yorkies@yetholmeyorkies.com I *will* be including show results. Sure, some people might not be interested in them, but the exhibitors are, so please don’t be shy about sending them to me. I want the full results - date/show/judge and listing and placement of all those who were entered. We are, after all, trying to encourage Yorkies in the showring. For those without email, my postal address is: Romany, Yetholme NSW 2795 ph/fax 02 6337.5279. Some of the news in this first editon of The Independent Yorkshire Terrier is a little outdated. It has taken me longer than I anticipated to 'get up and running' as far as working out the the best way to go about distributing it. Distribution via theYetholme Yorkies website means that, except for a couple of people who don’t have access to computers, there is no cost involved to me for paper, postage, photocopying, etc.. So, let’s hear from you….soon.
